I was always...I always wished I had a common name. I was always jealous of the Stephanies or Katies. Not fair! I remember thinking, I'm only going to spell my name for you ONE more time! I just stopped correcting people on how to say my name after 10 times! I think people tend to go the opposite of what their name is? Obviously naming my girls Grace and Emily was very outlandish! Haha!Chandranoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3241426062736770094.post-87648187271357518132011-08-07T14:45:46.315-07:002011-08-07T14:45:46.315-07:00Rachael - Every time I see or hear a name I like, ...Rachael - Every time I see or hear a name I like, I write it down. Then I look up the meaning (though it doesn't necessarily have to mean something cool, just don't want it to mean something stupid!) and check out the popularity on the social security website. Ian ends up nixing most of the names I like though, so we'll see what we end up with.Jessica G.https://www.blogger.com/profile/02069529074063718149noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3241426062736770094.post-36399389383270044282011-08-06T21:23:58.986-07:002011-08-06T21:23:58.986-07:00I was JUST talking to Charlotte about names. I'...I was JUST talking to Charlotte about names. I'm with you in the unique name camp. In MY humble opinion, a unique name makes it easier to remember the person, makes the name feel more like their own, spices up life, etc. I'm pretty darn biased. I'd rather meet someone with a unique name I DIDN'T like than a normal name I felt ambivalent about. I consider my name semi-unique because of the spelling (RachAel). <br />Anyways, this whole comment probably doesn't help you at all. If you don't like looking through baby books, where do you look for names? Or do you just want to fortuitously stumble upon it?Rachaelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10767171745320881379noreply@blogger.com
