Connor: This kid has certainly liked Christmas this year. He is very into the festivities and never tires of opening gifts. On a side note, dumping fake snow on your kids heads is really fun and they totally get a kick out of it.

Isla: She got a pink feather boa at a kid Christmas party we went to. It was the perfect gift for this girly-girl. In fact, Christmas was kind to her and she received many princess items and has been changing constantly.

Please tell me I am not the only person that finds themselves constantly taking pictures of their kids with the Christmas tree?! I already have pictures of them reading by it, these ones, ones of them looking in ornaments. It's just that they gravitate to it so much...and so do I...so we end up with a lot of Christmas tree pictures.

Connor: He is so excited for Christmas and his stocking and presents. I wrapped and put the presents under our tree one evening this week. I couldn't wait to see how excited the kids would be in the morning. I quickly realized it is pure torture to put out presents a week before they can open them. Oops.

Isla: This girly-girl's current favorite accessory is this red sparkly headband. Lots of times lately, she even finds it and puts it in her hair after we have put her to bed.

Connor: "Looking" up at the rain.  I showed him the storm drain on our street and he had so much fun using his foot to push a bunch of water at a time down the drain as then you could hear it hit the bottom. It's the little things in life!

Isla: I feel like we are at that sweet spot with Christmas. She loves the ornaments, hanging then, admiring the, yet she now does a good job handling them, so I don't have to worry about broken ornaments every where...unless the kids are fighting over one, then I need to worry.

Connor: I sort of hope I see this face come Christmas morning when Connor is opening his presents. But, presents aside, this kid is so full of life and can be so incredibly animated at times.

Isla: This girl is obsessed with princess dresses and never wants to be out of one. It isn't often that I force her to take one off, as I don't care if she wears them in public, but when I have to, it is DRAMA! It was not a pretty sight when I refused to allow her to wear her princess dress for our family photos.

Connor: He has been wanting to ride his bike in the leaf pile oh-so-bad. Finally his dream came through. I think it was much harder than he thought and he kept quickly getting stuck. I think he actually had more fun making himself and his bike fall over in the leaf pile.

Isla: I am in the process of changing Isla's room from a baby room to a kid room. I removed this red rocking chair that has been in there her whole life. It's one of her favorite places to fall asleep. She has also recently taken to changing out of her pjs after I put her down for bed...and on this particular night, she also chose to wear her "sparkly shoes".

Connor: This boy certainly isn't lacking personality. He is comfortable in his own skin and loves being around his friends, who this week he has taken to calling "my people".

Isla: It's almost shocking how quickly the princess craze has taken over our house. I scored a new-to-her princess dress at a toy exchange this week and she proceeded to wear it the entire day, only taking it off to bathe, then put it right back on over her pjs.

Connor: Sometimes it's fun to take off your shirt, run around the backyard, squirt your sister with the hose and make funny faces.

Isla: These kids are kind of obsessed with my glasses. If only they knew that it's nicer to not have good eyes and not to wear glasses. But at least they still think I am cool, glasses and all ;)

Connor: This kid doesn't like haircuts, but at least he doesn't scream anymore. I decided to try a new hair style for him and keep the top long so we could style it. I tried spiking it and instantly Connor made it lay down and said "I like my hair flat."

Isla: The princess. She loves sparkly dresses, but is always most concerned about her crown.

Connor: This boy loves getting dirty, and playing with others. He feeds off being around other people. I was so proud watching him and a friend work TOGETHER to stack tires...even if they did fight over Connor wanting to be in the middle of the stack!

Isla: Isla and a cat. Need I say more?! It really is her personal heaven.

Connor: We did a lot of exploring with insects this week. I was so proud of him for letting a caterpillar crawl on him, as he is normally afraid to let them touch him.

Isla: This one is all girl, I tell ya. Plopped down in the middle of the floor, reading a Dora book with her tutu and wings on. She refers to herself as a bee when she wears these wings, flaps her arms and tells us she is flying.

Connor: He has so much energy and bounces around so much. But when I get him to sit down and focus on something, he gets absorbed in what he is doing.

Isla: She turned three this week and was able to celebrate three different times - at school, with friends and with family. It was fun, sweet, chaotic and exhausting all at the same time. Oh, and she gets totally embarrassed when people sing happy birthday to her.

Connor: Sometimes it seems hard to calm him down, but take him somewhere like a huge train station and it is shock and awe.

Isla: Where Isla goes, tabby cat will also go. This little (dirty) cat has been with us everywhere on vacation..including on the ground in public places a few thousand too many times.

Connor: On the Eiffel Tower. He was oh-so-excited about the elevator operator and how the elevator operated. Once we got on top, he didn't want near the edge, as he was afraid of falling, even though we were completely enclosed.

Isla: The face of determination. Even after falling on this big rope ladder, she got back up and did it again.
