52/52

Connor: This boy is growing up before my very eyes, yet is still very much a young kid. I love how into Christmas he has been this year...and he can't keep talking about "staying up all night" on New Year's this week.

Isla: So tough, yet still so much girl in her. She got some lip gloss and kept putting as much on at one time as she could, then would come announce  to me how beautiful she looked.

Callum: Survived his first Christmas by sleeping and eating.

Connor: This kid has so much energy. He literally never stops moving. It's crazy. Sometimes just watching it going down makes me tired. But then, he will pause for just a moment, to cuddle or kiss "the baby" and my heart turns to mush.

Isla: She has needed some extra cuddles since Callum joined our family. And I never say no to cuddles.

Callum: I still can't get over his newborn goodness. He prefers to be held upright, rather than laying down. He smiles in his sleep. And he is actually starting to open his eyes more consistently.

Connor: He is so incredibly proud to have a brother and dotes on Callum all the time. It really does make my heart soar. And I've even heard him call the baby Callum a couple times, so maybe he is coming around about the name.

Isla: Even though she can be pretty rough and isn't into dolls at all, she is all about hair bows and sparkle.

Callum: Oh the newborn squish. I can't get enough cuddles from him at the moment. I really am loving this new baby in our house.

Connor: I love how this kid has to put on his entire tball uniform every time he wants to play it, even if he is just batting by himself in the backyard.

Isla: She has played under the Christmas tree nonstop since we put it up. I love it. She takes her stuffed animals under there with her and will even tuck them up in the tree and leave them there to play with later.

Connor: Trying to put on a grumpy face, but you can totally see the smile getting ready to break through.

Isla: Showing off her owl from preschool. Oh, and we have now heavily entered the I-refuse-to-cooperate-for-pictures phase

Connor: He had his birthday party this weekend and I am pretty sure loved every minute of it. He is so social that being surrounded by his friends is so his thing.

Isla: Just a mustached girl and her mustached kitty. Her stuffed kitties really are her favorite and most played with toys.

Connor: This was his idea for a pose and I kind of love it because of that smile on his face. He had a big week this week. He came home with an award from school that I didn't know much about, then found out that it's like student of the month. Later he told me he was excited because he always wanted to get it. Also, his birthday was celebrated at school, hence the crown on his head. He got to bring home a special birthday book, a birthday award and got a birthday pencil. Big stuff when you are in kindergarten.

Isla: This girl can be such drama, but her sweet spirit and her sweet little voice can make my heart mush in an instant.

Connor: When he wants to play tball, he puts on his entire uniform. It's pretty dang cute. And now his sister is starting to play with him, which helps him not have to play it on his own…though those two, playing with a bat together does leave me worried at times.

Isla: No one ever accused her of lacking in personality. What you can't see here is the full outfit that she picked out herself. Her leggings were pink with cats printed all over them. She claimed the leggings and shirt match because there is pink on the leggings and pink stars on the shirt…and of course pink on the beanie and pink in the most colorful light up shoes you have ever seen (that she came home with after a shopping trip with her Papa and Grammy).

Connor: In the Halloween parade at school. He surprised me and wore his costume all morning at school…of course, he told me he would when I insisted that he wear clothes under it. As soon as he got in the car, he stripped it off.

Isla: The last picture I have of her long hair, taken mere hours before it was cut off. She has cried a few times over her hair being gone. On Saturday morning, one of the first things she did after waking up was look in the mirror. She started crying and asked, "Why isn't my hair long yet?"

Connor: Thinks public transportation is the coolest (probably because he doesn't have to ride it every day…then again, I used to love it when I rode the bus every day, so who knows). He is most fond of standing and not holding on to anything and trying to steady himself when the bus starts and stops.

Isla: "Mama, when I hear music, I just have to dance." The girl doesn't even need music to dance! One of my favorites is her love of singing…and making up her own songs. It cracks me up because she will make them up about just about anything and everything.

Connor: Playing alphabet bingo with his sister. The kids have been playing games together a lot lately. 99% of the time they make up their own rules. But I love it. And I am pretty sure Connor loves it because he gets to act like the boss and Isla listens.

Isla: She turned four this week. This was her standing in her birthday streamers that I hung on her door the night before. They didn't even make it through the day before the day the kids pulled them down.

Connor: That look of anticipation before the water hits. I took close ups of his feet when the water was hitting too and discovered that right before the wave hits, he would cross his toes. I cross my toes for things too.

Isla: Sometimes you've just gotta lick the shower door. She has also been really into acting like a kitty lately. She crawls around the house, carrying things in her mouth and begs me to play fetch with her. It's actually pretty funny. Oh, and she loves it when I pet her…she "meows".
