Homemade Popsicles + Nuby Garden Fresh Fruitsicles Review

I feel like endless popsicle eating is a right of passage for childhood summers. Heck, I want popsicles to be included in my daily diet during the summer! As my kids appetites for popsicles grew, so did my desire to make healthy ones at home. Healthy ones are easy to make too. I have tried all sorts of varieties:

* cut up grapes with apple juice

* smashed strawberries in their own juice

* smashed peaches topped up with apple juice

* homemade lemonade

The options are limitless. Though, I must say, be careful what crazy recipes you try off of pinterest because I have made some rather odd tasting popsicles before...lets just say steer clear of adding herbs and coconut milk (the real thick stuff, not the fake stuff people drink instead of cows milk) to popsicles. It's just weird. 

Anyway, I jumped at the opportunity to try out Nuby's new garden fresh fruitsicles. It is really a straight forward system. Put whatever ingredients you choose into the containers, add the sticks/handles and freeze. These molds are on the smaller side (1 ounce each), but my kids have never complained and I have eaten them numerous times and enjoy the small refreshing snack. And, to be honest, I like that they are small because mashing up fruit does take work. 

The handles on these are nice and big for small little hands. And, as an added bonus, the inside of the handle catches all the popsicle drips...of course popsicle drips only happen to small children and not seasoned popsicle eaters like myself or Connor ;) You can find Nuby garden fresh fruitsicles at Amazon.

Nuby No-Spill Cup {nuby product review}

The Nuby No-Spill Cup is like a non-sippy cup, sippy cup. Follow that? I didn't think so. Even though it is a sippy cup, it really isn't at the same time. With it's fun colors, straw and cool lid, it appeals to the "older" crowd. In fact, Connor instantly declared it as his as soon as he saw it. But with it's silicone straw, it works great for those younger toddlers as well.

What I like about it is it is BPA free and the flip top that keeps stuff off the straw (and drink out of my purse) when I throw it in my bag. I also like that the flip top is easy enough for my kids to do...and sometimes they get great entertainment out of it!

Squid Water Squirter {nuby product review}

So let me just get this out of the way, as a bath toy, the Nuby squid water squirter didn't work too well for us. As an outside/pool toy, we LOVE it. You see, the first time we tried it out was in the bath. Connor pointed it at the bath wall and squirted it and all that water bounced off the wall and went all over my bathroom. So an outdoor toy it became.

But let me tell you, this is a pretty amazing outdoor toy. Connor loves it. I thought the concept of putting it in the water and pulling up the handle to fill up would be a hard one to get, but he got it right away and hasn't stopped playing with it since. And what makes it really fun is it shoots water about 7 feet. So it's pretty fun to chase your friends (or your little sister) with.

Nuby Clik-It Sippy Cup {nuby product review}

I am sure I am not the first mom in the world to constantly run into the problem of not correctly putting a sippy cup lid on when in a hurry. And as every mom knows, if that lid isn't on properly, there WILL be leaks. And no mom likes having to take the extra time to clean up the mess from said leak. So, the idea of the new Nuby Clik-It sippy cup line seemed rather ingenious to me. And it's quite simple. When the lid "clicks" it's locked on. 

Connor and Isla had never tried a "sipper" cup before, where it is more like a cup as it doesn't have a spout. But they both like it and have had no problems drinking from it. And I like that the silicone sipper fits securely in the lid so I don't have to worry about it falling out (please tell me I am not the only mom that deals with parts falling out in sippy cups!?!). This basically makes the cups two pieces, which is another win in my book. This is especially important because those kids of mine are constantly emptying out our sippy cup drawer and those parts end up all over my house.

Step-Up Stool {nuby product review}

I have to say, the Nuby step-up stool has quickly become one of the most used toddler products in my home. It mostly stays in the bathroom and is used for turning on the light, going to the bathroom and washing hands. It's so light that both Connor and Isla can pick it up and take it where they need it...though sometimes this works to my disadvantage!

With grippy surface not only on all the feet, but on the top of the stool as well, it makes it amazing for kids to use. This bad boy has been used a gillion times in our house already and not once has it slid out from under the little person (or mama) using it. Also, it is easy to clean. And we would know given it has taken a direct hit from some well, uh, pee a couple times now. Cleans right off, no fuss. Here's the crazy part, this stool is rated for up to 800 pounds...yes, you did read that correctly. So it is certainly able to handle more than one set of feet at a time.

Splash n' Catch Bathtime Fishing Set {nuby product review}

Bath time in our house is one of those things that is greatly looked forward to. As the kids have gotten older, finding more age appropriate toys has become more difficult for the bath. Usually the problem can be solved by bringing regular (i.e. non bath approved) toys in. Thankfully Nuby has done a great job at filling that void and coming out with some bath toys for older toddlers. The splash n' catch bathtime fishing set is definitely one of those toys.

Connor enjoys this toy for its intended purpose, catching things with the net...bubbles included. While Isla is more fond of the fish links that come with it. And me, well I am happy that it is BPA free and a hit with the kiddos. I'm also pretty excited that it totally works as a toy for their kiddie pool outside as well!

Flower Child Snack Keeper {Nuby Product Review}

I am one of those moms that tends to buy gender neutral baby items. It's practical and I can use the items for both my kids. But every once in a while, something fun comes along and I have to snag it up. The Nuby flower child snack keeper is definitely one of those items. Come on, look how cute it is. It is rather irresistible...if you have a girl. And on a side note, when did my baby girl get so grown up?! I took these pictures the other day and was caught off guard by how grown up she looks in them. Where was I? Oh yeah, the flower child snack keeper...

I am guessing every mom out there knows how amazing and useful snack keepers are. This one is no exception. It is three pieces - the lid, the body and the handle. It is BPA free and very durable. Also, I would have to say the lid is the most durable of all the snack keepers I have owned. It makes it more difficult for say a toddler finger to hold open and dump cheerios all over the floor...not that that has happened to me before.

Fish Swoosh Bath Play Set {Nuby Product Review}

One thing I discovered as my kids got older is there are a lot of toys for the first year of a baby's life that really don't grow with them. One of the biggest places I have noticed this is with bath toys. That is what I like about the Nuby fish swoosh bath toy. Though it is rated for ages 18 months and above, parts of it really can be used from the beginning. 

You see, not only does the fish swoosh bath toy come with a net, it comes with three fish balls that also squirt water. No matter what age your baby is, the fish balls are fun to play with. And once baby is older, they are even more fun to play with! Connor loves squirting them. Isla has yet to figure out they squirt. And both kids like putting them in the net. 

The net can be opened or cinched closed. Connor seems to have fun filling it with toys, then opening it and letting the toys dump out. And we have discovered that the net is big enough to handle more than the fish balls. Both trains and duckies fit well in it too!

Tickle Toes Hippo {Nuby Product Review & Giveaway}

It's hard to describe the tickle toes hippo without you being able to hear it laugh. Because it makes about the funniest (and creepiest) noise known to man. This said noise has certainly sucked my kids in. They think it is amazingly hilarious. 

Though I am not normally a fan of plush toys, especially the talking variety, I have to admit I was instantly won over by the tickle toes hippo. I think it has something to do with the amazing color of pink that it is. That and the laugh. The laugh actually sucked me in as well. 

After showing Isla once where to push to get the hippo to laugh, she had it down. Smart kid, right?! I produce geniuses, I tell you. But the hippo...this hippo has already saved a couple walks we were on and even came out at the park. Isla has become very fond of it. She likes to cuddle with it a lot.

Nuby No Spill Cup {nuby product review}

When it comes to things like sippy cups, I am a no-frills type of mom. I want one with as few parts as possible, that doesn't leak and can take a beating. Oh, and I'd like it to be reasonably priced too! I'm not asking too much, right?!

The Nuby no-spill cup is just that. With only three parts, its simple enough. Having used it for over a month now, I know it can take a beating. And so far, no signs of leaking. No need for me to run after my kids and set their sippy cups upright to keep my floors semi-clean. And guess what, it is cheap! At $4.99 for two cups, it's quite the bargain. And as always, the cup is BPA free. 

I love how the restrictor can be flipped to allow for either slow or fast flow. I have Isla's cup set on slow and Connor's on fast. And one of my favorite things about all of Nuby's sippy cups, is they actually offer replacement pieces. So, if you happen to lose that restrictor, you can order a new one. I can't begin to tell you how many cups I have thrown away because of things like this. That alone literally makes me want to only use Nuby sippy cups...that and the fact that this is currently my go-to cup for both kids.

Splish Splash Stacking Bath Cups {Nuby Product Review}

One of the things as a parent I think you can never have enough of are bath toys. They get played with all the time, sit in pee soaked water (come on, don't act like your kids don't pee in the bath!), and somehow manage to get strewn all over the house. I must not forget that many of them eventually find their way to the trash because of mold. Sure there are a few that seem amazingly mold resistant (and thus make me love them) but that is another story. Bath toys get used and abused more than other toys in my house.

Enter Nuby splish splash stacking bath cups. Not only are they fun colors and have holes in the bottom to entertain the kiddos, but they stack to save room on storage, well and to teach hand/eye coordination, but I like the saving space part a lot. AND, since I mentioned it before, they are made of hard plastic, not the soft plastic that is so susceptible to mold in my house. Who am I kidding, the list doesn't stop there! But back to the fun...holes in the bottom of the cup, you say? Yep, that's right. Isla loved the holes in the bottom of the cup. She loved it when I would hold them in the air full of water and she would play in the water streaming down. She then quickly learned to hold them in the air herself and let the water stream down. And I will admit, I loved the fact that the water left those little holes slow enough that I could get away with using the big cup to wash Isla's hair. Multi purpose in my book is a huge score.
